Countdown to the Closure or Carmageddon: 405 Freeway
Dear Drivers,
Be aware of potential traffic and delays. Here is the I-405 freeway closure schedule:
- Demolition activities over the July 16-17 weekend for 53 consecutive hours, resulting in the full freeway closure of the I-405 freeway in the Sepulveda Pass.
- Northbound I-405: 10-mile closure between I-10 and U.S. 101
- Southbound I-405: 4-mile closure between U.S. 101 and Getty Center Drive Ramps
- The Mulholland Dr Bridge will also be closed that weekend.
- The Skirball Bridge will be closed with a full directional freeway closure.
- Night Work Activity - On the 18th & 19th of July - SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC only - starting at 7:00 pm they will be closing down lanes and by 10 pm all lanes will be closed.
- Night Work Activity - On the 20th & 21st of July - NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC only - starting at 7:00pm they will be closing down lanes and by 10 pm all lanes will be closed.
TIP: Don't even think about taking Sepulveda Boulevard, the 405's go-to surface-street alternative. Stay at Home and Enjoy your Weekend!
